Welcome to Bama Brushstrokes Decorative Painters!
We are a group of individuals who meet once a month to enjoy our passion for painting. We learn, teach, and paint with all kinds of medium on various surfaces. Our club members include many skill levels from beginner, intermediate to advanced.
Activities include seminars with well known artists and classes taught by club members or local guest artists. Club projects provide an opportunity for learning, enhancing creativity, and providing a service for our community. Our intent is to enrich the life of others as well as our members.
The Memory Box Project for Hospice patients, sponsored by the Society of Decorative Painters, is one of the various ways we share our talent with the community. Our members also create painting projects and murals for local schools, hospitals, libraries, and community-based organizations. Our chapter provides an opportunity for these organizations to raise funds, as well as visually enhancing work environments for the organizations' employees and volunteers.
A newsletter, "Bama Brushstrokes," is published monthly for our members. A PDF link to the monthly newsletters along with various blog page categories is also available on this site. Please check out our event photos, club information, current projects and the activity and events calendar.
We invite you to visit one of our general meetings on the 2nd Saturday of each month. The date, time and address of our next meeting is listed above. If you decide to join our club, a prerequisite is membership in the Society of Decorative Painters. Upon joining the Society, they will send each new member a coupon for an art kit. Also, each new member of the Bama Brushstrokes chapter will receive a gift bag from us. Our club dues are only $15 per year.
